Stamping Capabilities for the Automotive Industry
Many automotive applications require formed geometries that cannot be efficiently produced through machining or line fabrication. Deep drawn stamping creates these shapes while maintaining material integrity, smooth surfaces, and consistent wall thickness.
Deep drawn stamping is commonly used for automotive housings, enclosures, shells, fuel system components, and other parts requiring complex formed geometry. We offer progressive and transfer/eyelet tooling strategies as part of our deep drawn stamping process.
Many electrical components are produced in high volumes and require exceptional dimensional consistency. Progressive die stamping allows multiple operations, including piercing, forming, coining, and cutting, to occur within a single automated tool, creating efficient production while maintaining tight tolerances.
This process is commonly used for electrical terminals, contacts, connectors, lead frames, and other precision components where repeatability and performance are essential.
Transfer and eyelet press operations provide additional flexibility when components require deeper draws, specialized geometries, or improved material utilization for drawn components. Individual blanks move through multiple forming stages, enabling complex parts to be manufactured with exceptional consistency.
These capabilities are particularly valuable for eyelets, specialty contacts, deep-drawn electrical components, and other applications where precision forming is critical.
Compound die stamping provides an efficient, high-precision manufacturing solution. By performing blanking and piercing in a single press stroke, compound die stamping produces finished flat parts with tight feature-to-feature tolerances and consistent dimensional accuracy.
Compound die stamping is commonly used for electrical contacts, terminals, lead frames, shims, washers, and other precision flat components where alignment, repeatability, and clean edge quality are critical to assembly and electrical performance.
The Benefits Of
Automotive Metal Stamping
Automotive metal stamping provides manufacturers with several advantages over machining, line fabrication, and other metalworking methods.
Cost Efficiency
Stamped components can be produced at high volumes with minimal material waste and reduced labor requirements, helping lower piece-part costs over the life of a program.
Repeatable Quality
Well-designed tooling and controlled production processes deliver consistent dimensions, repeatable performance, and reliable assembly fit across long production runs.
Long-Term Production Stability
Automotive programs often run for years. Metal stamping provides a stable manufacturing platform capable of supporting ongoing production demands while maintaining quality requirements.
Material Efficiency
Compared to subtractive manufacturing processes, metal stamping uses material efficiently and minimizes scrap generation, helping improve overall manufacturing economics.
Quality & Process Control Built for Automotive Manufacturing
Automotive applications demand confidence in every component. At PRESCO, quality is engineered into every stage of production.
Inspection methods are selected specifically for each part’s geometry, tolerance requirements, assembly considerations, and functional performance. Our quality capabilities include:
